Solwinda visited Klaipėda State University of Applied Sciences (KVK) to introduce students to day-to-day work in modern wind energy — from turbine maintenance to safe rope-access operations. The session covered how theory meets field practice, what competencies are needed on and around wind turbines, and how teams plan and execute work at height.
Students took part in an open Q&A about career paths, safety culture, and required certifications. We also discussed the skills most valued by employers across onshore and offshore projects and how practical training can accelerate entry into the sector.
Key takeaways:
Realistic picture of wind-turbine maintenance workflows and rope-access methods
Safety, standards, and equipment overview for working at height
Career pathways, from internships and junior roles to specialist tracks
Solwinda believes partnerships like this help bridge education and industry, strengthening Lithuania’s renewable workforce. Thanks to KVK for the warm welcome — we look forward to future activities that give students even more hands-on exposure to wind energy.
